The Farm House Cafe

The Farm House Cafe

Link first this time. Go there. Enjoy the food. But make reservations because it is small, cozy and busy!

Shared a dinner at the Farm House cafe with Bobbi a week ago. Let's just say it now ranks on my goto list.

Started with a wonderfully prepared scallop salad. Nothing overpowering, everything fresh and flavorful. The scallops were cooked perfectly, and I do mean perfectly!

Then the mains: I had a roasted lamb shank. Fell off the bone with a wonderful flavor. The couscous side was perfect for the dish. Bobbi had the Duck Confit, and lets just say it was even better then my Lamb. Full of flavors and textures, this was a real treat to enjoy.

We ended the evening with a desert, that like the rest of the meal, was fantastic.

If you go to one place on this blog, you might want to consider this one!

Good eats!

Curry and More

Having not had much exposure to Indian cuisine, I was pleasantly surprised when Terry suggested that we go out for Indian food before curling on Saturday night. In my mind I imagined that it would be tasty, but nothing to get overly excited about. Boy was I wrong! Now, without a doubt, Curry and More is my newest obsession and my favorite restaurant in San Diego.

I had the murg saag, which is chicken with fresh spinach cooked in mild spices and fenugreek. This dish was incredible! The flavors unfolded in my mouth bite after bite and I simply couldn't get enough. Terry had the mixed seafood curry. As usual we shared our dishes and though his meal was very different from mine it was just as delicious. His meal had some heat and was chalked full of shrimp, calamari, and salmon. Both dishes were a great example of perfectly balanced flavors combined with fresh ingredients. I can't wait until we go back again.

So, whether you are new to Indian food or well versed in Indian cuisine I highly recommend Curry and More.
